There are currently two methods of testing for HPV in men.1. HPV DNA testing is used in men who have a bulky organism forming on their genitals. It is necessary to remove the growths and send them for histologic examination. This test is accurate and reliable and can identify subtypes of HPV.2. Acetic acid test. When there is HPV infection, acetic acid can make the skin and mucous membranes in the infected area appear white, i.e. acetic acid white test is positive. It is suitable for those who are suspected of having HPV infection, but the appearance of genital skin and mucous membrane is normal.
