How to treat varicose veins

Varicose veins are categorized into esophagogastric fundal varicose veins, lower extremity varicose veins, and varicose veins of the spermatic cord, and the treatment methods are different. Esophagogastric fundal varices are caused by portal hypertension of cirrhosis, first of all need to protect the liver treatment, at the same time to prevent rupture and bleeding of esophagogastric fundal varices, which can be treated by ligation or sclerotherapy, and if necessary, also feasible portal vein disconnecting surgery, or pericardial vascular dissecting surgery. In the case of varicose veins of the lower limbs, avoiding heavy physical activity and prolonged standing and wearing compression stockings are recommended for mild symptoms, while surgery is recommended for severe symptoms. Surgical treatments include minimally invasive interventional embolization and open surgery. If the pain of varicose veins is obvious, surgical treatment is needed to perform high ligation of the spermatic veins.
