The absence of white of the eye in children is commonly caused by physiological phenomenon, congenital glaucoma, pigmented nevus and other reasons.
1. Physiological phenomenon: children’s sclera wall is often thin, can reveal the color of the uvea inside the eyeball, so from the outside, the white area of the eye is darker, seemingly no eye white.
2. Congenital glaucoma: the cornea of this kind of children is large, resulting in from the outside, the lid area can only see the black eyeballs, can not see the white of the eye.
3. Nevus pigmentosus: the child’s eye white area grows new benign organisms composed of nevus cells, from the outside, it seems that there is no eye white.
Parents are advised to take their children to the hospital for prompt medical treatment to clarify the cause of the nevus.
