Acetaminophen and ibuprofen are not the same drug, but they belong to the same general category, and both drugs are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Acetaminophen is commonly used in children, while ibuprofen is often used in adults. Commonly used clinical acetaminophen are paracetamol and Tylenol, which are fever reducers containing acetaminophen. Both acetaminophen and ibuprofen can be used for patients with influenza or viral colds that cause headache and muscle aches all over the body, accompanied by clinical symptoms such as fever, cough and peripheral weakness. However, the simultaneous application of acetaminophen and ibuprofen is not recommended, as it can cause certain side effects on the liver and kidney function, which are more threatening. However, for adult patients with prolonged fever, acetaminophen and ibuprofen can occasionally be used at intervals, usually four hours apart.
