Can atrial fibrillation be corrected for years?

It is not recommended to correct atrial fibrillation for many years, because there are risks in correcting atrial fibrillation and it is difficult to maintain normal sinus rhythm after correcting atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation for many years should be permanent atrial fibrillation, if we want to correct atrial fibrillation, there is a risk of thrombosis, and basically the atria are already relatively large, the chance of atrial fibrillation reversal is relatively small. If the left atrium is less than 45 mm in diameter, there is a chance that it can be converted to sinus rhythm. If the left atrium is more than 45 mm in diameter, it is difficult to convert atrial fibrillation, and even if it is converted to sinus rhythm, it is difficult to maintain sinus rhythm. Currently, the first treatment for atrial fibrillation is anticoagulation, which can be done with warfarin, rivaroxaban, dabigatran, etc. However, when using the above drugs, it is important to pay attention to conditions such as bleeding gums. At the same time, the ventricular rate should be controlled, as long as the ventricular rate is not too fast, there is usually no big problem. The drugs to control the fast ventricular rate of atrial fibrillation mainly include beta-blockers, such as betalactam, non-dihydropyridine calcium antagonists, digitalis, and amiodarone four major classes of drugs. Atrial fibrillation in an acute attack should be applied intravenously with preparations to turn the heart rate, which are fast-acting and have a more definite effect. Once the ventricular rate is controlled, oral medication should be administered promptly to prevent recurrence of rapid ventricular rate.
