Difference between Mingmu Di Huang Wan and Jinhua Mingmu Wan

The drug composition, efficacy and effects of Mingmu Di Huang Wan and Jinhua Mingmu Wan are different.
Mingmu Di Huang Wan is composed of ripened rhubarb, cornelian cherry, Chinese yam, moutan skin, poria, zedoary, wolfberry, angelica sinensis, white peony, chrysanthemum, tribulus terrestris, and calcined schizandra, which is effective in nourishing the kidneys, nourishing the liver, and brightening the eyes.
Mingmu Di Huang Wan is used to treat astringency and photophobia of the eyes, blurred vision, and tears in the wind caused by yin deficiency of the liver and kidney (deficiency of yin fluid in the liver and kidney). This product is contraindicated for people with outbreaks of fire eye (i.e. infectious conjunctivitis, also known as red eye), which is characterized by reddening of the whites of the eyes with congestion, photophobia, tearing, and excessive eye droppings. The adverse reactions of this product are not clear.
Jinhua Mingye Pill is composed of Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Semen Cuscutae Saltatae, Fructus Lycii, Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati, Radix et Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Rhizoma Chrysanthemi, Radix Cassia Obtusifoliae, Fructus Plantago Lanceolatae, Fructus Buckwheat, Fructus Buckwheat, Fructus Crataegus, and Semen Asiatica.
Jinhua Mingmu Pill is used for the treatment of early and middle stage of senile cataracts, which is characterized by deficiency of the liver and kidneys (weakness of the liver and kidneys) and deficiency of yin and blood, with symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness, tinnitus, and lumbar and knee soreness and weakness (a feeling of soreness and weakness of the lumbar and knee areas). Please do not take medicines that have an effect on vision during treatment.
