Newborn hearing screening uses otoacoustic emission (OAE) and automatic auditory brainstem response (AABR) technology, and the screening device sets a passing standard, which is “pass (pass)” and “fail (fail)”. “It can only screen out children with possible hearing loss, but it cannot determine the nature and degree of hearing loss. To determine the nature and extent of hearing loss, a detailed diagnostic hearing test is required.
