Have hepatitis B but normal liver function

People with hepatitis B can have normal liver function. The hepatitis B virus infects the body and causes infection and damage to liver cells, but there are times when liver function is completely normal. Normal liver function does not determine that the liver cells are not infected with the hepatitis B virus, the number of infected liver cells is relatively small, and the number of damaged liver cells is also relatively small, so it is likely that liver damage cannot be detected from the liver function test. If a person with hepatitis B does not undergo antiviral treatment, the hepatitis B virus still exists to infect and destroy a larger number of liver cells, and it is only when the substances in the liver cells enter the blood circulation that liver function can be significantly abnormal. Normal liver function only indicates that at this stage, the destruction of liver cells is not too much, and does not represent whether there was significant destruction of the liver some time before or some time after.
