How many months does colic occur in babies?

Baby colic is mostly seen in babies within 3 months of age, and may occur around 2-4 weeks after birth and can usually be relieved around 6 months of age, mainly related to the imperfect development of gastrointestinal function in newborns. When colic occurs in babies, they can usually have repeated loud cries. At the same time, it can be accompanied by facial flushing, white around the mouth, abdominal pain and distension, as well as double fist clenching, legs curled, feet cold and other symptoms, mainly due to cold abdomen or inhalation of cold air when eating, resulting in indigestion, which in turn causes colic. It is recommended to hold the baby upright in time after eating, so that its head is lying on the shoulders of parents, and gently pat the back to help exhaust. In addition, you can also massage the baby’s abdomen or apply local heat to relieve the abdominal colic. If the above-mentioned methods fail to relieve, it is recommended to promptly visit the pediatric department or pediatric gastroenterology department of a regular hospital to check the function of the intestinal tract and carry out symptomatic treatment after clarifying the cause.
