Is grade 3 thyroid cancer?

I believe that many patients who have thyroid ultrasound examinations are confused when they get the report and see the results of thyroid level 1, 2, 3, etc. They do not know whether this indicates that their thyroid nodules are benign or malignant and how mild or severe their condition is. In the ultrasound examination of thyroid nodules, the examining physician will use TI-RADS to classify the nodules into six levels based on their morphology, boundaries and echogenicity, as follows: thyroid level 1 is normal thyroid; thyroid level 2 is benign nodules, mostly cystic nodules, and nodules with multiple follow-up examinations are benign; level 3 is a thyroid nodule with a high probability of benignity and a low probability of malignancy, of which nodular Grade 4 indicates that the nodule is likely to be malignant and requires follow-up and biopsy; Grade 5 is more malignant and requires surgery; Grade 6 is a pathologically confirmed malignant thyroid nodule. Patients can basically determine whether the thyroid is more likely to be malignant or benign based on the thyroid ultrasound report, so they can choose to take the appropriate approach for examination, treatment, and follow-up. It is recommended to seek timely medical attention and reasonable treatment, and not to neglect and delay treatment.
