Uremia belongs to the category of edema and Guan Ge in Chinese medicine, and Chinese medicine treatment requires evidence-based therapy. If Guan Ge belongs to spleen and kidney yang deficiency (deficiency of yang qi in the spleen and kidneys), and dampness and turbidity are embedded within the syndrome, WEN SPENCER TANG and WU JUZHU TANG can be used. 1. Guan Ge belongs to Yang deficiency of the spleen and kidneys, and dampness and turbidity are embedded within the syndrome: short urine, clear color. Even urinary closure, dark complexion, cold form (cold body), cold limbs, fatigue (mental exhaustion, physical weakness), swelling, mainly below the waist, poor appetite, abdominal distension, generalized nausea and vomiting, and loose stools. The formula is Warm Spleen Tang combined with Wu Zhu Tang plus subtractions. 2. Guan Ge belongs to Yin deficiency of the liver and kidneys (deficiency of Yin and fluid in the liver and kidneys), with evidence of internal movement of Liver Wind: short urine, frequent vomiting, dizziness, headache, facial warmth, lumbar and knee soreness and tenderness (feeling of soreness and tenderness in the lumbar and knee regions), and twitching of the hands and feet. The formula is Qi Ju Di Huang Wan combined with Antelope and Hook Teng Tang plus subtractions. 3. Guan Ge belongs to the evidence of kidney qi weakening and evil trapping in the pericardium: no or little urine, generalized swelling. White face and dark lips, cold extremities (cold extremities, even to the elbows and above the knees), foul smell of urine in the mouth, dizziness, feeling the bed with clothes, curled tongue, pale and fat. Urgently use Ginseng and Subsidiary Tang combined with Suhexiang Pill, followed by Cleansing Phlegm Tang. The above prescriptions need to be used after identification by a TCM practitioner, avoid self-medication.
