Can you eat watermelon to reduce fever?

Patients with fever symptoms can eat watermelon, but eating watermelon does not achieve the effect of reducing fever, so they also need to take some other antipyretic drugs to cool down. If the patient’s body temperature is below 38.5℃, it is generally not recommended to take antipyretic drugs to avoid covering up the condition, but to let the patient drink more warm water, or let the patient take a warm bath, as well as to let the patient put on antipyretic patches to cool down. However, for children with a history of febrile convulsions, acetaminophen can be given to reduce fever at about 38 degrees Celsius. For patients with a fever of 38.5 degrees or higher, they can be cooled down by taking ibuprofen pellets and nimesulide to relieve the discomfort of high fever. Patients also need to eat more fruits as well as drink more water during the fever to help recover from the fever.
