Why dry and flaky skin

Dry and flaky skin may be related to physiological factors such as skin dehydration, or to diseases such as psoriasis and ichthyosis.
1. Physiological factors: If the skin is dehydrated or the external environment is dry, it may trigger the body to have dry skin and flaky skin.
2. Psoriasis: the cause of its formation is still unknown, perhaps due to genetic, environmental and immune factors. Clinical manifestations are dry skin, red patches, often covered with scales.
3. Ichthyosis: patients will have dry, flaky skin and ichthyosiform lesions. The cause of its formation may be related to heredity, drugs and other factors.
There are many reasons for dry and flaky skin, and after excluding physiological factors, it is recommended that patients go to the hospital and undergo relevant examinations to clarify the causes.
