Causes and types of hair loss

Hair is extremely important for each of our instrument. We normal people have hair growing on our head from birth until adulthood, and generally can grow 1 million hairs. Under normal circumstances, each person can shed 60 – 80 hairs per day, combing and washing hair often appear more hair loss, this is because the hair already in the resting phase has not yet fallen off by pulling and falling off, but if a person sheds more than 100 hairs per day, thus causing thinning hair or flaky hair loss, is a pathological condition, the called alopecia areata.
With the development of society and the accelerated pace of people’s life, work and study, the psychological pressure on people is increasing, and the incidence of hair loss in the population is also increasing. There are many causes of hair loss, including seborrheic alopecia, alopecia areata and other causes of hair loss.
The direct causes of hair loss are the following.
  1, mental factors
Mental tension, depression, fear, etc. can lead to neurological disorders and imbalance of the immune system in the body, which is the most conscious reason for spot hair loss.
  2.Genetic factors
On the basis of genetic inheritance, the main reason for male pattern baldness is the increase in the level of androgens in the hair follicles after entering puberty. Eating spicy and sweet food can induce or aggravate the disease.
3.Disease, weakness, malnutrition, increased hair loss in autumn and winter
These are common causes of resting hair loss, chemotherapy is the culprit of hair loss in the growth phase, and certain head skin diseases can cause pseudo-baldness.
There are many types of hair loss, the common ones in clinical practice are
  1. Male pattern baldness
Also known as early baldness, seborrheic alopecia, etc., it is a gradual process in which the head hair gradually changes from thick and long to thin and soft. It is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder in both men and women, and its genetic characteristics can only manifest under the action of androgens.
The disease often develops at the age of 20-30, starting from the hair on the two sides of the forehead at the sideburns, gradually becoming thin, sparse, shedding, and gradually extending to the top of the head, the scalp greasy, sebum and dander more, a few years to decades after the forehead and the top of the hair can be completely lost. Women have a relatively late onset, showing thinning hair on the top of the head, but the hairline of the forehead generally does not move back.
With the improvement of people’s living standard and the increase of social competition pressure, the incidence of the disease has increased significantly, and there is a trend of youthfulness, many patients around thirty years old have basic hair loss on the top of the head, causing a great impact on the patient’s body and mind. If the treatment is not appropriate, it will not only have no effect, but also accelerate the loss of hair, so understanding the medical characteristics of the disease will have an important impact on the course of the patient and the prognosis.
At present, there are not many effective treatment methods for the disease, the most effective treatment is recognized is oral Bofaji plus topical treatment drugs with 2-5% of Minoxidil (such as Mandy, etc.), the treatment plan for early light, moderate male pattern baldness has a good effect, usually after two or three months of treatment began to take effect, continuous use can make hair loss stop, and promote the transformation of hair from fine soft to coarse hard, hair density can also be increased to a certain extent, to achieve the purpose of beauty hair. It can also increase the density of hair to a certain extent and achieve the purpose of hairdressing.
In clinical practice, some doctors like to use Chinese medicine to treat the disease, the theory of Chinese medicine that kidney supplementation can promote hair growth, but do not know that male pattern baldness patients themselves have high androgen levels or increased sensitivity to androgens, kidney supplementation will lead to further aggravation of some male pattern baldness.
Treatment methods that are still in the research stage include gene therapy and follicular cell transplantation treatment. Advanced male pattern baldness patients can be treated with hair transplantation, which can have a certain cosmetic hair effect, but it is not accepted by the majority of patients because of high treatment costs, high patient pain, and the survival rate of transplantation is greatly affected by the experience of the operator.
  2. Alopecia areata is a kind of sudden and limited hair loss with normal skin, no inflammation, smooth surface and patchy hair loss, which can last for months or years, and most of them can be regenerated. In severe cases, the entire head hair is lost rapidly, which is called total baldness. In rare cases, in addition to hair loss, other parts of the body, such as eyebrows, eyelashes, beard, axillary hair, pubic hair, etc., and even all the body hair, are lost.
Common baldness is easy to treat, and some of them can heal by themselves after sleep improvement. Generally, hair can grow out sooner with topical minoxidil, etc., and the growth rate will be faster if local closure is done 1-2 times. However, multiple baldness is often heavier than single baldness, and total baldness is heavier than baldness, and the heaviest one is poochy baldness. These baldnesses are difficult to cure even after various treatments, so you must seek treatment from a professional dermatologist.
In addition to the above two types of alopecia, the more common types of alopecia are syphilitic alopecia, resting alopecia, pseudo-baldness, etc. These types of alopecia need to be diagnosed by regular dermatologists and the help of corresponding auxiliary examinations in order to make the correct diagnosis and treatment.
