The flesh next to the teeth is called the gums. Swelling of the gums may be caused by acute gingival papillitis, periodontitis, periapical periodontitis, etc. In case of acute gingival papillitis, the irritating factors need to be removed; in case of periodontitis, periodontal treatment is required; and in case of periapical periodontitis, endodontic treatment is required.
1. Acute gingival papillitis: Remove local irritating factors, such as broken toothpicks, fish spines, filling body overhangs, etc., and then use 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to carry out local rinsing to alleviate the symptoms of inflammation, and medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor.
2. Periodontitis: first of all, basic periodontal treatment, including scaling, scraping, etc., if the swelling and other inflammatory symptoms do not see significant improvement, need to carry out periodontal surgical treatment, such as flap surgery, membrane gingival surgery and so on.
3. Apical periodontitis: If there is abscess formation, the pulp cavity can be opened, incision and drainage of pus, followed by routine root canal treatment, to be controlled by inflammation, restorative treatment to restore the shape of the tooth.
