The diagnosis of postoperative care for pituitary tumors includes the possible complications after surgery and the evaluation of the surgical outcome, which is also closely related to the presence of co-morbidities. Permanent complications are less likely to occur, such as uveitis, hypopituitarism, visual impairment, inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone syndrome, and vascular occlusion and damage, among others. Short-term complications include cerebrospinal fluid nasal leakage, transient uremia, and transient inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion syndrome. Transient complications are more frequent and account for a somewhat larger proportion of these postoperative pituitary tumor care diagnoses.
