Treatment criteria for hyperlipidemia

The target cholesterol reduction values for hyperlipidemia are divided into four levels according to the disease status: very high risk, high risk, intermediate risk and low risk. The specific diagnostic and treatment criteria are as follows: 1. Very high risk: Most of the very high risk patients have concurrent coronary heart disease and some are post-stent implantation, so they are required to strictly control their LDL cholesterol level to 1.8 mmol/L or reduce it to about 50% of the original level; 2; For patients with combined type 2 diabetes, the LDL cholesterol level is required to be controlled below 1.8 mmol/L. 2. For high-risk groups: high-risk groups are required to control the LDL cholesterol level below 2.6 mmol/L. 3. For low- and intermediate-risk groups: the LDL cholesterol is required to be controlled below 3.4 mmol/L. Hyperlipidemia can be controlled in most patients through a combination of dietary control, exercise regulation and medication, but long-term medication is required to maintain a relatively safe lipid level.
