The difference between Cold-Damp and Damp-Heat is the difference in etiology and symptoms. Cold-dampness evidence can be divided into external and internal injuries. If cold-dampness is felt, the operation of qi and blood is obstructed, with joint, tendon and bone pain as the common clinical symptoms; if cold-dampness is trapped internally and damages the spleen and yang, or if the spleen and kidney are deficient in yang (yang qi deficiency of the spleen and kidneys) and cold-dampness stops internally, with chills and cold limbs (afraid of the cold, cold limbs), abdominal pain and diarrhea, or edema as the common clinical symptoms. Dampness-heat is related to the sensation of external evils, dietary disorders, spleen and stomach disorders, and emotional factors. Symptoms include heavy head and body (head and limb heaviness), low food intake, abdominal distension, nausea, bitter taste in the mouth, irregular and unshaped stools, small amount of urine with yellow color and odor, and itchy, ulcerated and running water on the skin. If you have any of the above symptoms, it is recommended that you seek medical treatment promptly.
