Recovery time after cerebrospinal fluid extraction ranges from approximately 8 hours to 2 weeks, and factors affecting recovery time mainly include the method of cerebrospinal fluid extraction and individual recovery.
Cerebrospinal fluid specimens can be collected by lumbar puncture, cerebellar medullary pool puncture, or lateral ventricle puncture. If lumbar puncture is taken to collect cerebrospinal fluid, if the recovery is good, it can be gradually recovered in 8~24 hours; if cerebellar medullary pool or ventricular puncture is taken to collect cerebrospinal fluid, the damage is relatively larger, and the recovery time is relatively longer, and it may take 1~2 weeks.
Before cerebrospinal fluid extraction, it is necessary to go to a regular hospital for preoperative examination. If the puncture site is found to have septic infection and other problems, it is generally not recommended to extract cerebrospinal fluid through lumbar puncture and other methods.
