How to see if you’re cross-eyed

Cock-eye mostly refers to internal strabismus. If the patient’s eye position is skewed inward in both eyes, he/she may suffer from internal strabismus, but he/she needs to go to the hospital to confirm the diagnosis by performing strabismus tests such as the masking de-covering test and the alternating masking test.
Esotropia is a common ophthalmologic condition in which the patient’s eye position is tilted inward, which can affect the patient’s appearance and may cause complications such as amblyopia. Patients with internal strabismus can usually detect it on their own due to obvious appearance abnormalities, but they need to go to the ophthalmology department of the hospital to confirm the diagnosis by doing strabismus-related tests, such as the masking de-covering test and the alternating masking test.
Adjustable strabismus patients can wear glasses to correct the refractive error so as to balance the eye position. Patients with non-adjustable strabismus need to undergo surgical treatment, such as medial rectus muscle reduction, to improve the patient’s appearance.
It is recommended that patients with strabismus should consult a doctor to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions.
