What does high bladder neck mean?

A high bladder neck means that the junction of the urethra and bladder is elevated from its normal state.
The bladder neck is located at the junction of the urethra and the bladder. High bladder neck may be caused by inflammation of the urinary system, which may elevate the neck of the bladder by repeated irritation; it may also be caused by urethral stricture, or due to congenital anatomical abnormalities.
Symptoms such as frequent urination, urinary urgency, and difficulty in urination may occur in the presence of a high bladder neck, and a clear diagnosis can usually be made by doing a cystoscopy. After confirmation, the condition can be treated with medication (e.g. levofloxacin anti-infection treatment) or surgery (transurethral electrolysis) depending on the cause of the condition.
If patients have symptoms of high bladder neck, they should consult a doctor in time to identify the cause of the disease and standardize the treatment so as not to delay the disease. During the period of illness, we should keep the pubic area clean and hygienic, avoid eating spicy and stimulating food, actively treat the primary disease, prohibit sexual intercourse.
