Can you get physical therapy for scoliosis?

Scoliosis can of course be treated with physical therapy, but physical therapy does not address the underlying pathology of scoliosis, but only relieves the clinical symptoms associated with pain and spasm in the muscles surrounding the spine due to scoliosis. This is because physical therapy is able to soothe the meridians and promote the reduction of sterile inflammation. However, after physical therapy, the scoliosis area still needs to be maintained and actively treated, otherwise, as long as there is prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, bending or exposure to wind or cold, scoliosis pain and other related symptoms will still occur. If the scoliosis is particularly severe, it can only be corrected through surgery, and the usual physical therapy is only treating the symptoms but not the root cause. Especially for adults with severe scoliosis, surgery is the only way to correct it. For children or scoliosis during the growth period, the scoliosis may be protected by external fixation with a brace, and the angle can be adjusted regularly to get some relief.
