Causes of brown discharge after a clean abortion

Brownish discharge after abortion is associated with two conditions: the first is an incomplete abortion; the second is the presence of a reproductive tract infection. Because both abortion and medical abortion, there is a chance that the abortion is not clean. Of course, the chance is higher for medication abortion, which is about 10-15%. So about ten days after the abortion, we need to go to the hospital to do gynecological ultrasound. Two weeks after the medication abortion, we need to go to the hospital for a gynecological ultrasound. The purpose of the ultrasound is to see if there is still residue in the uterine cavity, and if there is still residue, most of the clinical manifestations are brown discharge or irregular vaginal bleeding symptoms. Another possibility is that there is a genital tract infection, which may be characterized by lower abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding or fever. To check for infection, we can do a gynecological examination and a vaginal discharge test, as well as a routine blood test.
