Symptoms and Manifestations of Cold-Dampness

Cold-dampness can be divided into endogenous cold-dampness and feeling cold-dampness. Symptoms of endogenous cold-dampness are mainly manifested as fear of cold and cold limbs (fear of cold, cold limbs), distension of epigastrium (abdomen), dullness (lack of appetite, decrease in the amount of food), and lack of desire to eat, etc. Symptoms of feeling cold-dampness are mainly manifested as pain in the skin and contracture of the joints. Cold and dampness are generated internally due to dampness trapping the spleen and stomach (dampness stays in the spleen and stomach), damaging the spleen and yang, or the patient’s usual spleen and kidney yang deficiency (deficiency of yang energy in the spleen and kidneys) resulting in the internal stoppage of water and drink (water and liquid abnormally stays in the body). Symptoms mainly include coldness, fullness in the stomach and abdomen, dullness and lack of appetite, sticky stools or diarrhea, or shortness of urine and swelling of the limbs. When cold and dampness are felt, the flow of qi and blood is blocked, with pain in the skin and contracture of the joints as the common symptoms. If you have any of the above discomforts, it is recommended that you seek medical treatment promptly.
