Signs and symptoms of cataracts

The main symptom and manifestation of cataract is painless and progressive vision loss.
Cataracts are caused by the clouding and degeneration of the lens inside the eyeball due to aging factors, trauma, and long-term use of hormone medications, making the originally transparent lens opaque and preventing light refraction, thus leading to vision loss.
Because cataract disease progresses slowly, vision loss is gradual. At the same time, the eye is usually not accompanied by pain, itching, congestion and other uncomfortable symptoms. Cataract patients can improve their vision through surgical treatment, such as cataract ultrasonic emulsification aspiration combined with IOL implantation.
It is recommended that cataract patients seek prompt medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
