The prominent manifestation of patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia is fever. Most of the patients with fever have moderate fever, e.g. >37.3℃ later basically around 38℃, individual patients will have fever up to 39℃, and a small number of patients do not have significantly elevated body temperature. As for how to carry out isolation, body temperature cannot be used as a criterion for isolation. Isolation is mandatory for patients with definite novel coronavirus pneumonia. For patients with suspected or probable novel coronavirus pneumonia, medical isolation is also required even if their body temperature is normal. Therefore, body temperature cannot be used as a basis for isolation. Because the fever of novel coronavirus pneumonia is characterized by a certain incubation period, the incubation period time is on average 7 days, and fever can appear after the incubation period. The duration of fever is relatively long, usually more than 3 days. For such patients, isolation is necessary both during the incubation period and during the time of fever. Source: Dr. Yurai
