The causes of numbness in women’s heels include physiological and pathological causes. Physiological causes are mainly related to localized pressure, while pathological causes include diabetic peripheral neuropathy and lumbar spine disease. 1. Physiological reasons: for example, if the patient wears inappropriate shoes, the root of the foot is compressed for a long time, the local circulation is impaired and the female heel numbness occurs. 2. Pathologic causes: (1) diabetic peripheral neuropathy: if the patient has a history of diabetes, poor glycemic control can cause peripheral neuropathy, which is manifested as numbness of the female heel. (2) Lumbar spine disease: for example, lumbar disc herniation or spinal stenosis makes the spinal cord compression, which can be manifested as numbness in female heels. When women have numbness in the heels, they should improve the examination of lumbar spine such as CT or MRI, and be treated under the guidance of doctors.
