Multi-needle shallow pricking + wine vinegar therapy – How to treat osteoarthritis of the knee?

Osteoarthritis is a chronic joint disease characterized by degeneration and destruction of joint cartilage and osteophytes, of which knee joint involvement is the most common. Osteoarthritis is most common in middle-aged and elderly people, with a prevalence of 5O% in people over 60 years of age and up to 80% in people over 75 years of age. With the aging process in China, the incidence of osteoarthritis occurring in the knee is also increasing. According to some data, osteoarthritis of the knee has been ranked 2nd among diseases causing chronic disability in the elderly, second only to cardiovascular diseases, and is an important factor affecting the quality of life of middle-aged and elderly people, bringing a heavy burden to society. The current treatment of this disease is mainly based on the use of symptom-controlling and disease-improving drugs and chondroprotective agents, and partly relies on surgical treatment. However, patients with osteoarthritis of the knee often suffer from other age-related diseases and need to take multiple medications at the same time, especially in the context of increasing public health awareness, it is particularly urgent to provide “green therapy” for this disease that can avoid internal medication and be effective. I benefit from the fifth batch of national old Chinese medicine experts academic experience inheritance work, under the guidance of the instructor, Wuyi acupuncture famous doctor Yu Bo Liang, chief doctor “multi-needle shallow stab” academic thought, selected acupuncture points, and at the same time with wine vinegar treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee satisfactory results, is introduced as follows: a multi-needle shallow stab: the patient lying flat, the affected knee under a thin pillow, take Liangqiu, Heting, blood osteoarthritis. Take Liangqiu, Heting, Blood Sea, Outer Knee Eye, Inner Knee Eye, Yanglingquan, Yinlingquan, and A-Ye points, and use milli-needle, after routine local sterilization, enter the needle about 10 mm, the patient has acidity, swelling, numbness, pain or no feeling. Second, wine and vinegar therapy: after starting the needling, give our wine and vinegar No. 1 (half maple lotus root, thornbush, windbreak, frankincense, pepper root, each appropriate amount, make a bulk of the drugs, add white wine and vinegar soaked for 1 week and ready to use) hot compress, use gauze soaked in the liquid and then take out and put on the affected knee, and give TDP irradiation for 20 minutes. The selected acupoints are all located near the knee joint, if the patella is the dial, there are acupoints distributed in all major clock directions, “where the acupoints are, where the main treatment is”, the acupuncture points cooperate, the power of specialization, can be said to reach the disease, so it can well improve the local qi and blood infusion, tendons and veins, so that the patella function can be restored, and thus improve the function of the knee joint. This can improve the local qi and blood infusion, so that the patella can be restored and the function of the knee can be improved. Wine and vinegar therapy is a kind of physical therapy in which Chinese medicine and wine and vinegar are heated and applied to the body surface, which has the functions of dispelling wind and activating blood, eliminating hardness and breaking knots, and warming up the meridians. In the formula of wine vinegar No.1, half maple lotus root is the ruler, which dispels wind and dampness, invigorates blood and decreases swelling, and it is “good at dispelling wind and dampness, where foot pain, foot weakness, paralysis, it is taken by dipping in wine. In summary, I have learned in my medical practice that multi-needle shallow pricking with wine and vinegar therapy can effectively improve the two main symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee, namely pain and stiffness, and thus improve the ability of daily living, which is the most important concern of patients. In general, the program is rapid, effective, not too difficult to operate, and has sufficient safety, which is worthy of clinical promotion. The author also believes that in clinical practice, it is important to use sharpened needles, acupuncture, acupoint injections, and warm acupuncture according to the patient’s actual condition, and it is also important to help the patient master dietary contraindications, daily life precautions, and teach individualized, scientifically based exercise modalities.
