What drugs to take for erythrocytosis

Erythrocytosis can be treated with chemotherapy, the main goal of which is to lower the red blood cell count and reduce blood viscosity. Usually, firstly aspirin is used to fight platelet agglutination, and secondly chemotherapy can be used to control the red blood cell count, commonly used drugs are hydroxyurea, leucovorin, hypertrigonelline, etc. The application of these medications should be monitored regularly to prevent the white blood cells from dropping too low and causing infection. Interferon can be applied if available, and JAK2 inhibitors, such as ruxolitinib, can be used for treatment if there is a JAK2 gene mutation.
