Treatment of lumbar disk herniation

Lumbar disc herniation is a syndrome manifested by degeneration of the intervertebral disc, rupture of the annulus fibrosus, and protrusion of the nucleus pulposus to irritate or compress the nerves, which is a common clinical disease. The causes of the disease include degeneration of the intervertebral disc, injury, genetic factors, pregnancy and so on. Clinical manifestations include lumbago, sciatica, lower limb pain and/or numbness, cauda equina syndrome, intermittent claudication and muscle paralysis. Conservative therapies such as bed rest, traction, massage, Chinese medicine fumigation, Chinese medicine hot compresses on the lumbar region are the pre-treatment methods for this disease.
