Treatment for Hearing Impairment

Hearing impairment has different treatment options depending on the cause, as follows: 1) abnormal development of the external auditory canal and malformation of the external auricle, which requires surgical correction; 2) if there is a blocked ear or foreign body blocking the external auditory canal, the foreign body can be removed by some methods in order to restore hearing; 3) middle ear inflammation, which requires anti-inflammatory and symptomatic treatment; 4) if there is sensorineural hearing impairment or deafness, which requires hearing aids or even cochlear implants; 5) hereditary deafness, which can only be genetically diagnosed at present, and there is no special treatment method yet, so only symptomatic treatment is available, and depending on the degree of hearing impairment, hearing aids or cochlear implants can be chosen.
