Acute pharyngitis in children usually heals in a few days

Acute pharyngitis is a common pediatric infection that usually resolves within a week after the onset of the disease. Acute pharyngitis is usually caused by herpes virus infection, which is a self-limiting disease characterized by high fever and sore throat. The herpes in the throat usually disappears in a week or so, and the condition improves. However, acute pharyngitis is prone to other inflammatory diseases, such as tonsillitis and pharyngitis. If the symptoms of acute pharyngitis are severe, antiviral therapy, acyclovir or ganciclovir injection should be administered intravenously, and if bacterial infection is combined, antibiotic therapy should be combined. In addition, because acute pharyngitis is contagious, parents need to pay attention to proper isolation, separate dishes as much as possible, and pay attention to disinfection. During the treatment period, the child’s diet should be a light diet rich in protein and vitamins, with a liquid diet of vegetables and fruits as much as possible.
