Surgery for implantation in children is not likely to leave scars if only the hair follicles are removed, and may leave scars if inversion implantation correction surgery is performed.
If the number of impaction is relatively small and in a diffuse row, some of the hair follicles can be removed under fiberoptic microscope, thus removing the disseminated impaction, and this surgery will not leave a scar.
If the impaction is more numerous, concentrated in a diffuse row, or recurs through other methods of treatment, a full eyelid excision or partial excision of the impaction can be performed. This surgery has a skin incision and may leave a scar, but cosmetic sutures are currently used and the scarring is relatively light.
Whether or not children’s impingement surgery leaves a scar also needs to be judged according to the surgical method taken, so you can bring your child to the hospital for a detailed consultation.
