Symptoms of pediatric cough

Cough is a common symptom of respiratory diseases, mostly secondary to colds, and is often triggered by climate change. It occurs in winter and spring. Modern medicine considers coughing to be a reflexive movement of the respiratory defense and a protective response of the body. Various diseases such as upper respiratory tract infections, pneumonia and whooping cough can cause coughing. Chinese medicine classifies coughs into two main categories: external and internal injuries. Coughs caused by external influenza are mostly caused by wind, which is the longest of all diseases, and is often accompanied by cold, heat, dryness and dampness, attacking the lung meridians through the skin, hair or nose and causing the lung to lose its air circulation and purification, resulting in a cough. Internal coughs are most often caused by a long-standing or untreated external cough, or a weak lung, or a disease of the spleen or kidney that involves the lungs. If the external cough does not heal, the evil spreads to the lungs and turns into heat, which burns the fluid into phlegm, and then the phlegm and heat intertwine and block the lungs, resulting in a phlegm-heat cough. In children, the spleen and stomach are weak and easily injured by diet, and because of the lung disease and the spleen, the spleen loses its health and function, and phlegm and dampness are generated internally and stored in the lungs, resulting in a phlegm-damp cough. If the cough is prolonged and the disease affects the kidneys, the kidney deficiency affects the transmission of fluid and the elevation of lung qi, so the lung and kidney deficiency can be seen. The prognosis for this disease is generally good, but if the disease is not treated properly, or if it is not treated properly, or if it is mistreated, the disease will be difficult to be cured for a long time.
