A yellowish complexion with physical weakness is generally considered to be a possible cause of decreased liver function or anaemia, but it may also be due to Qi deficiency and lack of blood and Qi. It is recommended that a clear diagnosis needs to be made by going to hospital for routine blood tests and blood biochemistry. If the yellow face is jaundice, it may be a hemolytic disease in addition to liver and biliary diseases such as viral hepatitis, bile duct stones, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. Patients are advised to eat a light diet and avoid spicy and stimulating foods. They can increase physical exercise to improve their immune system.
