Why do you have diabetes?

With the improvement of living standards, diabetes is no longer a stranger to everyone. In recent years, the latest national epidemiological survey study of diabetes, the prevalence of diabetes in the population over 20 years of age has reached 9.7%, meaning that there are already nearly 100 million diabetics in the country, and what is even more frightening is that there is an even larger reserve army: more than 100 million seemingly normal patients with abnormal glucose tolerance. So, why the explosive growth of diabetes? As individuals, why do you get diabetes? The development of any disease is genetically and environmentally linked, and even more so for an endocrine metabolic disease like diabetes. Although there is still a minority of patients with a family history of diabetes, from a worldwide perspective, the Chinese have a stronger genetic predisposition to develop diabetes. Once the environmental factors change dramatically, i.e., a dramatic change in lifestyle, like seeds sown in fertile soil, they quickly take root, blossom, bear fruit, and become a prairie fire. Reflecting on the changes in our lifestyle, we are eating more and more, consuming less and less, stressing more and more, sleeping less and less, weighing more and more, as well as air pollution, food additives, etc. Nowadays, the most frequent results of medical checkups are several high people, including high weight, high blood sugar, high blood pressure, high blood fat, high uric acidemia and fatty liver. The insulin-secreting pancreatic B-cells are gradually overwhelmed, while other indicators may increase one after another. The results of domestic and international studies so far suggest that multiple genes influence and initiate the onset of diabetes, so there is no cure yet. Thus, the most important way to prevent diabetes is to change the lifestyle, eat less, move more, relax and maintain a normal weight, which is also the basis of diabetes medication.
