The duration of fever varies depending on the disease the child has. If a child has a fever caused by a common cold, it usually lasts 3-5 days. If the fever is caused by pneumonia, it usually lasts longer. It can take up to 5-7 days. If a child has symptoms of fever, he or she needs to actively seek medical attention to improve blood work, chest X-ray and other related tests to clarify the diagnosis. If the patient’s body temperature is lower than 38.5℃, physical cooling is the main clinical practice, and warm towels can be used to wipe the forehead and armpits. If the patient’s body temperature exceeds 38.5℃, oral antipyretic drugs such as Merlin, paracetamol, etc. can be administered clinically, and the possible causative agent of the infection can be evaluated. Different drugs can be used for different causative agents, such as antibiotics for bacterial infections and antiviral drugs for viral infections.
