Ultrasound of the abdomen can be helpful in ruling out cancer. First of all, for examination of internal organs, such as liver, pancreas, kidney, which are substantial organs with tumor growth, ultrasound can show single or multiple solid nodules inside, with less uniform internal echogenicity and less regular pattern. In the case of cavernous organs, such as the gallbladder and bladder, ultrasound can show solid nodules in these cysts, which protrude from the cystic wall into the cystic cavity and show a blood flow supply with color Doppler. It is also helpful to examine superficial organs, such as the thyroid gland and breast gland, where irregular solid nodules with less smooth envelope and sometimes sand-like calcified foci can be seen. If a tumor is found in the ovarian growth, you can see an unclear ovarian structure with irregular borders and irregular masses around the ovary. If the cancer has metastasized, ascites can appear in the abdominal cavity or enlarged lymph nodes can appear in the retroperitoneum, which can be clearly shown by ultrasound. For diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, gastroscopy and colonoscopy are best to confirm the diagnosis.
