Some cholangiocarcinoma patients can develop from early stage to late stage, and the determining factors are mainly related to patients’ own physical condition and treatment methods. If cholangiocarcinoma is diagnosed in early stage, i.e. T1 stage tumor, then surgical resection is feasible, and the prognosis is relatively good, with five-year survival period reaching more than 90%, and it will not develop into advanced stage. However, if no standardized treatment is taken when the cancer is found in early stage, or if the patient’s physical quality is poor and cannot tolerate the treatment, recurrence or continued spreading will occur. As the specific conditions of each person are different, the time of development from early stage to late stage varies, and it may happen in one year or ten years. Even the body of those with serious conditions may deteriorate rapidly, and the cancer cells may spread a lot in just a few months, and ultimately develop to late stage until death. Besides, postoperative care of cholangiocarcinoma is also particularly important. In the early stage, one should take light food, small amount of meals, and should not consume too much greasy food, so as not to aggravate the burden of intestinal tract and gallbladder.
