There is no cure for pediatric acromegaly, only a slowing of its progression.
Acromegaly is also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is a motor neuron disease. Initially, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis usually involves the upper or lower motor neurons, and gradually leads to damage to all upper and lower motor neurons, which in turn affects the medulla oblongata, resulting in respiratory difficulties, dysarthria, and so on. Therefore, there is currently no cure for acromegaly.
When diagnosed with acromegaly, one should go to the hospital in time and be treated under the guidance of the doctor. It should be noted that family members should be strengthened to take care of people with acromegaly, such as airway care, proper exercise, etc., so as to improve the quality of life of the patients and prolong the survival period as much as possible.
