Incidence of prostatitis

Prostatitis is a common disease in adult males, with a high prevalence in adult males under 50 years of age, and a high incidence between 31 and 40 years of age. A survey in China showed that the incidence of prostatitis-like symptoms was 8.4%. The incidence of prostatitis-like symptoms is 8.4%. Some data show that prostatitis patients account for 8% to 25% of urology outpatients; the prevalence rate in autopsies is 24.3% to 44%.
Prostatitis is a condition in which the prostate gland is infected by pathogenic bacteria and/or stimulated by non-infectious factors, resulting in pain or discomfort in the pelvic region, abnormal urination, sexual dysfunction and other clinical manifestations. Prostatitis can be divided into acute prostatitis and chronic prostatitis, and chronic prostatitis is more prevalent in comparison.
The main symptoms of prostatitis are frequent urination, urinary urgency, urinary pain, pain and discomfort in the perineum, testicles and scrotum. The main causative factors are drinking too much alcohol and enjoying spicy food, long hours of cycling or sitting work, and irregular sex life.
