How to break a swab for nucleic acid throat swab collection

Nucleic acid pharyngeal swabs are collected by sticking the front end of the sampler into the test tube, and holding the sampler handle with the other hand and folding it forcefully downward along the mouth of the test tube to break it. The handle of the sampling swab is usually made of polystyrene (or ABS) with a break point in the center, making it easy to break and put into a sealed bottle. Nucleic acid pharyngeal swab sampling swabs, also known as pharyngeal swab sampler, after sampling only retain the front part of the sampler, and the sampler’s hand contact part can not be dissolved in the sampling reagent. After the pharyngeal swab sampling, hold the sampler handle in one hand, deepen the head of the sampler into the test tube, and bend the sampler handle downward, through the break point, the sampler can be easily broken, and retain the front part of the sampling. The collection process needs to be careful that the part in contact with the hand cannot be retained in the sampling tube and must be discarded, otherwise it may affect the accuracy of nucleic acid detection.
