What is the location and function of Hegu

Hegu is located at the midpoint of the radial side of the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones on the back of the hand. Pressing and kneading or acupuncture on this point has the effect of treating headache, nasal congestion and other conditions. Hegu belongs to the points on the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian. Hegu is located on the back of the hand between the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones, near the midpoint of the 2nd metacarpal bone. This point has the effect of calming and relieving pain, energizing the meridians and channels, and relieving heat from the surface of the body. Therefore, rubbing, needling and moxibustion on Hegu has the effect of treating or relieving headache, nasal congestion, redness and pain in the eyes and throat, constipation, stroke and silence, and menstrual disorders in women. All of the above operations should be carried out under the guidance of a doctor or with the doctor’s treatment, in order to prevent improper operation caused by the opposite effect, thereby affecting the health of the body.
