Can rheumatic diseases be cured?

Whether a disease can be cured, the key lies in the removal of the cause of the disease, and most rheumatic diseases have not yet been clarified, it is impossible to talk about the removal and cure. At the same time, most rheumatic diseases are recurrent and often require patients to take medication for a long time, even for life. However, this does not mean “incurable”. Without treatment, the disease will worsen in the short term, bringing irreversible health losses to patients. With regular and systematic medication, the majority of patients can control the disease, relieve symptoms, prevent disability, improve quality of life and save lives. At the same time, we should clearly understand that the evaluation of the efficacy of both Western and Chinese medicines should be objective and should be based on clinical symptoms and laboratory tests, and a momentary improvement is not equal to permanent improvement; the relief of symptoms is not equal to the eradication of the disease. Because rheumatic diseases are characterized by remission and recurrence, they should be followed up regularly and should be treated in a nationally recognized hospital. Those wandering doctors under the banner of “ancestral secret recipes to cure rheumatic diseases” are not trustworthy.
