Floating pulse is the name of the pulse. The pulse is shallow and light, and can be obtained by lightly taking it; it is slightly reduced but not empty when pressed, and there is more than enough when lifted. Pulse Meridian: “There is excess when lifted, but not enough when pressed.” The main disease is superficial. Floating and strong is solid; floating and weak is weak. Most commonly seen in colds and flu, and in the early stages of certain acute febrile illnesses. However, it should be noted that some long-term illnesses, Yang Qi deficiency and can not be guarded internally, floating over the outside, can also be seen floating and powerless pulse. Reasons for the formation of floating pulse The formation of floating pulse is mostly due to the attack of external evils on the surface of the muscle, the body’s Wei Yang Qi resistance to the external evils, the positive qi outside the full, the Yang qi floats over the drums on the surface, resulting in floating pulse. As stated in “Diagnostic Zong Samadhi”, “Floating is the response of the meridians and muscle surface, good by the evil attack on the three yang meridians, drumming the pulse gas outside, so the finger should be full of floating.” This indicates the manifestation of increased resistance of the organism to disease. When there is an evil deficiency of the li and blood, and the qi floats outside, the pulse qi cannot be submerged internally, and there is as much floating and sloshing of the essence to defeat it as there is floating and dispersing of the god. As contained in “Diagnostic Zong Sanmai”: “When the disease is prolonged and the pulse is floating, this is a deficiency of the center gas, which cannot be guarded internally.” Therefore, the pulse is floating and weak. This indicates a weakened organism with low resistance and an extremely weakened heart, and is a precursor to the externalization of yang qi. This is an example of the floating main weakness. The floating pulse indicates that the patient has an exogenous infection, the disease is light and superficial, the exogenous evil has just entered the body, the body’s positive qi is still strong, and the exogenous evil fights with the pulse qi, and the pulse qi is drummed outside, so the pulse is floating and powerful. If the pulse is floating and weak, it means that the patient is usually weak and the Wei Qi is weak, so the superficial evidence is called superficial deficiency. If the pulse is floating and weak in long term disease, it is a manifestation of Yang Qi floating over and the condition is critical. Differential Diagnosis of Floating Pulse Sinking Pulse: Sinking Pulse is the opposite of Floating Pulse in that it is deeper in the area where the pulse appears, and it is not obvious or has no throbbing sensation when lightly pressed, and it has obvious throbbing sensation when heavily pressed. Sinking pulse is the main evidence of internal evidence. Sinking with strength is the main evidence of internal reality, which indicates that the evil energy of internal organs is strong, and the positive energy is not very weak. Sinking and powerless pulse indicates Li-deficiency. Li-deficiency refers to the deficiency of positive qi. Sinking and weak pulse can be seen in Spleen Qi deficiency and Kidney Qi deficiency. A sunken pulse can also be seen in edema of the limbs, so a sunken pulse is also associated with watery drinks. Late Pulse: Seeking the flesh to come to three, the pulse is extremely slow and slightly late, floating late surface cold is superficial evidence, sinking late cold must be seen. Slow, knotty, substitution, astringent, late category, do not talk about it without looking into the details. Fine pulse: the pulse is as fine as a line when pressed, with obvious ups and downs. It is often seen in Yin deficiency and Blood deficiency. It is also used in dampness. When Yin and Blood deficiency fails to fill the vein channels, or when dampness blocks the vein channels, the pulse will be small. Micro pulse: fine and small as a string, sunken and very fine most constantly, spring and summer juveniles are not suitable, spring and winter old and weak is indeed good. Weak pulse: Sinking, thin and soft like a weak pulse, light searching without boards and heavy picking to know that the vital energy is depleted and the essence and blood are weak, and young people can be worried about the white head. Weak pulse: weak pulse is late and soft, weak and hollow when pressed, the spirit, gas and blood are all damaged, the cause of the disease is false, and there is a lot of sweating.
