This indicates a weakened organism with low resistance and an extremely weakened heart, and is a precursor to the externalization of yang qi. This is an example of the floating main deficiency. Modern medicine points out that floating pulse is mostly seen in the early stage of various acute infectious diseases, and when fever and floating pulse are seen, it may be generally due to the increase in cardiac output, dilation of peripheral blood vessels, decrease in vascular elastic resistance, and increase in radial artery filling degree. If floating pulse and counting pulse appear together, it refers to wind-heat. Equivalent to the external wind-heat cold and so on.
