Alzheimer’s disease is divided into three periods based on the degree of deterioration in cognitive and physical functioning: stage 1 (1 to 3 years), stage 2 (2 to 10 years), and stage 3 (8 to 12 years). There are not seven stages.
Alzheimer’s disease starts slowly or insidiously, and patients and their families often cannot say when it starts. The disease is mainly characterized by a decline in cognitive function, psychiatric symptoms and behavioral disorders, and a gradual decline in the ability to perform activities of daily living. The first stage (1 to 3 years) is mild dementia. The second stage (2 to 10 years) is moderate dementia. The third stage (8 to 12 years) is severe dementia.
As the cause of this disease is not known, there is no specific treatment drugs and methods, the following aspects can play a certain preventive role: First, a balanced diet, to avoid excessive intake of salt and animal food; second, moderate exercise, to keep the waist and feet strong; third, to avoid excessive drinking, smoking, and live a regular life; and fourth, to prevent arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, and obesity and other diseases.
Suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, it is necessary to seek timely medical treatment and diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of a doctor to slow down the development of the disease and improve the quality of life of patients.
