A pubic ultrasound examination is done by first having the patient go to the bathroom to empty the urine, then lie flat on the examination bed with the legs spread apart to expose the perineum and take the truncated position. The vaginal ultrasound probe is removed, a small amount of ultrasound coupling agent is applied to the end of the probe, a sterilized latex sleeve is applied, usually a condom is used instead, and the vagina is slowly inserted for the examination. The vaginal ultrasound, also known as intracavitary ultrasound, is performed by inserting the probe into the vagina. The probe is long and thin, cylindrical, about 2 cm in diameter and smooth in appearance. The condom is lubricated so that it can be inserted into the vagina without discomfort and the uterus and adnexa can be seen after about 10 cm into the vagina. Since there is no need to hold urine during the ultrasound, it can save the patient’s time. Moreover, the ultrasound has a higher image resolution than transabdominal ultrasound and has a very high diagnosis rate of gynecological diseases, so married women should prefer the ultrasound when they want to do gynecological ultrasound.
