A low percentage of giant immature cells indicates that the hematopoietic function of red blood cells in the body is relatively poor, which is mostly related to the decline of hematopoietic function of the bone marrow. When there is a large number of abnormal cells infiltrated in the bone marrow, a decrease in the number of immature reticulocytes occurs, which can cause aplastic anemia in severe cases, resulting in a low percentage of giant immature cells. In some patients, the low percentage of immature reticulocytes may be due to damage to the human hematopoietic stem cells caused by prior chemotherapy; in these patients, the number of peripheral red blood cells continues to rise after the drugs are discontinued, and the percentage of immature reticulocytes may return to normal. At present, there are huge immature cells with low percentage, it is recommended to consult the doctor in time, then combined with hemoglobin, platelet diagnosis and analysis, and according to the cause of the targeted treatment.
