What is the role of cimetidine

The indications of cimetidine are: i. treatment of active duodenal ulcer and prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcer; ii. treatment of gastric ulcer; iii. treatment of reflux esophagitis; iv. treatment of gastrinoma; v. prevention and treatment of stress and drug ulcer; vi. treatment of peptic ulcer complicated by bleeding; vii. it can be used for treatment of immune deficiency caused by various reasons and adjuvant treatment of tumor; viii. it is used for treatment of herpes zoster, other herpetic infections including genitalia, ix. female androgenic alopecia, acne, hirsutism in women, herpes zoster, etc.
